Brittany Manwill

Brittany has lived in the Pacific Northwest her entire life, hopping around different cities in both Oregon and Washington before finally settling in Central Oregon. She fell in love with the outdoors at an early age and has hiked all over the Pacific Northwest. She's also an avid runner, skier, and cyclist. She's usually up for trying any outdoor activity at least once. She loves half marathons and bike races but will never do another triathlon.

When she's not enjoying Central Oregon's stunning scenery, Brittany loves to travel and explore new places. Hiking through the French/Swiss Alps, backcountry skiing Canada's Selkirk Mountains, and extensively backpacking through Yosemite top her list of favorite travel adventures so far.

Day Hiking Central Oregon is Brittany's first guidebook. Additionally, she is the founder of Mazama Bar - a company that makes all-natural energy bars for outdoor adventure. She's also a regional correspondent, gear tester, and regular contributor for Washington Trails Magazine. Brittany graduated from the University of Oregon with a major in business and a minor in journalism. She lives in Bend with her favorite hiking companions: her husband, Derek; their son, Rowan; and their happily-hyper rescue dog, Tonka.
