Diana Stout, MFA, PhD, is an award-winning author, screenwriter, and former English professor of writing classes. whose lifelong passion for writing and teaching has inspired countless students and readers.

Over her multifaceted career, Diana has written and published in nearly every form imaginable: books, magazine and newspaper articles, columns, short stories, poetry, plays, and screenplays, one of which was optioned. Her ability to move seamlessly between creative and professional writing reflects both her versatility and deep understanding of the written word.

Her mission is simple: to help others write with clarity, confidence, and joy.

Among her proudest accomplishments is her novel Grendel’s Mother, an ambitious project that reimagines a classic tale through a compelling new lens. The book showcases her skill at blending literary craft with emotional depth—a hallmark of her writing across all genres.

Today, Diana celebrates a return to her creative roots, focusing on novels, novellas, and screenplays that explore human nature, resilience, and transformation. Additionally, she’s writing how-to and resource guides for her Finding Your Fire series. Whether she’s writing, teaching, or mentoring, she approaches every page with the same enthusiasm that first drew her to the craft.
