Chris McClean

Chris McClean is an award-winning author, graphic designer and filmmaker. Although he prides himself as being a prolific novelist, his writing skills are versatile and allows him to create stories for both adults and younger audiences. Chris was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but his family roots trace back to the beautiful island of Barbados, West Indies. Chris uses his life experiences and creativity to demand young readers' attention with realistic scenarios and colorful illustrations.

In 2017, Chris was a finalist for the Book Excellence Awards (The CrimeFighters: The Heroes Stop a Bully) and winner of the Hungry Minds Book Award for the 2017 Independent Children’s Publisher (The CrimeFighters Book Series). He also won an award for the best children's book at the Black Book Festival in 2018 (Sierra and the Sweet Tooth Fairy).

When he isn't creating an eye-catching children's book, Chris is behind the camera creating high-quality films under his production company, Black Lens Cinema. He also creates novels for adults under the pen name, C.L. Lowry. He is also the host of the Fiction Addiction Podcast, where he interviews authors, filmmakers and other creatives.
