A note from the Author: Dyslexic, I’ve never had the pleasure of reading a book, but as a child, one of my greatest joys was being read to. So I understand the magic of words.

Most of my teachers sympathized with my disability, and even though my reading skills were poor, I graduated high school and then a few years later, Tulsa Technical College with the help of a tutor. Born in 1954, dyslexia was unheard of when I was young. There were no special classes for special children, only for the misbehaved, and I was very well behaved.

An architectural designer by trade, I consider myself an artist. I’ve spent a lifetime creating artwork, writing songs and poetry. It wasn’t until I had access to a computer that I discovered I could write stories, too. Even though I can’t actually read what I’ve written, writing for me is like what reading must be to others; the great escape.
