Mike Albanese

Mike Albanese is an award winning screenwriter and actor. His adapted novel "Werewolf's Apprentice" won Best Feature Screenplay at the Lake Travis Film Festival and placed as a Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival.

Mike is a native of Belvedere, South Carolina. He grew up in the shadows of the giant plutonium plant near Aiken where his father worked in penal servitude making the deadliest substance on earth.

He flunked out of the University of South Carolina and having no good prospects took to the road. He read Poe on Sullivan’s Island while saving to make a jump to the Caribbean. He ended up in St. Thomas pouring drinks at the “Fat City” bar off of Back Street in Charlotte Amalie. Eventually a “My God I’m Thirty” moment sent him packing back to the mainland. he returned to Belvedere, bought a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring and drove it to Los Angeles to seek his fortune. He found work in the video game business and eventually was able to take up writing as a full time occupation.

Mike lives in the beach town of Venice, California with his wife Virginia, Joey Albanese and the remains of his dead cat.
