Francis Vallejo

I am an illustrator that grew up in Detroit, MI. To study art I moved to all sorts of exotic locales like Sarasota, FL and Austin, TX. I now live back in Detroit, MI with my lovely girlfriend and our dog Akira. I like Detroit, MI and you should too. Now this hometown pride business must be confusing as I am wearing a Cincinnati apron in my super cool profile pic. Well, I bought that apron at a Goodwill thrift store for 50 cents via a Wednesday-1/2 off-purple-tag-sale and it was the only one that fit! I've considered editing the "C" to a Detroit "D." Nothing against Cincinnati, I just don't know much about the city except that Hi-Tek is from there. I might be getting off track.

Jazz Day is my first picture book (I illustrated it and the legendary Roxane Orgill wrote it). I'm quite proud of it and and am in the midst of making all sorts of fun paintings for a new book.
