C G Mayya

C G Mayya, presently known as Swami Nirgunananda Giri, is a Teacher of Indian Non-dualism, Yoga Meditation, Mindfulness and a Life Coach to many. He is presently based in Uttarakhand region of Himalayas in India, and spends most of his time in solitude. In the past, he has conducted retreats, workshops and mindfulness training programs in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, several South East Asian countries and India.

Nirgunananda is dedicated to the Truth that transcends religions, traditions and culture. His book, Discover your Free Mind, is for awakening that independent inquirer in all of us, and particularly written for the open minded city-dwellers.

He dedicated over 20 years for training and serving at monasteries and Ashrams. He has also participated in several silent retreats ranging from ten days to two years. His keen interest in psychology, neuroscience and western philosophy led him to participate in discussion forums, research studies, and to train healthcare professionals on meditation and mindfulness.

Born in India but having lived a major part of his life in other countries, Nirgunananda Giri draws on both his worldly experience in the corporate world, and the wide range of teachings and practices to which he was exposed. Thus his writings and teachings appeal to the introspective and open minded class of people seeking personal growth, self-transformation, and on the quest for that one ultimate Truth.

Presently based in his small mountain Kutir (cabin) in Himalayas, he remains committed to a life of simplicity and dedicated to explorations into inner freedom and self-inquiry. For a few months every year, he travels to major cities in India and abroad, giving talks and conducting retreats. He is not affiliated with any organization or religious groups.
