B.E. Jackson likes to say it was the untrained Mustang her parents bought her at age ten that taught her how to overcome obstacles and persevere in her creative goals. She grew up among storytellers—actors, writers, and musicians—and learned to treat a career in the arts like any other profession. An award-winning short story writer and magazine editor, she lives with her husband in a verdant part of rural Arizona, where she derives her inspiration from the animals she cares for and the natural terrain that abounds. She is currently working on two more Tiger Cate novels.
