Nanette McGuinness

Award-winning California opera singer, translator, voice talent, and writer Nanette McGuinness has recorded 6 albums and performed in over 25 roles in operas, concerts, and oratorios in 13 languages and on 2 continents. She is also the translator of over 100 books and graphic novels for children and adults from French, Italian, German and Spanish into English.

Two of her translations, Luisa: Now and Then and California Dreamin’: Cass Elliot Before the Mamas & the Papas were chosen for YALSA’s Great Graphic Novels for Teens; Luisa: Now and Then was also both a 2019 Stonewall Honor Book and a GLLI YA Translated Prize Honor Book. "Alice on the Run: One Child's Journey Through the Rwandan Civil War" is currently shortlisted for the 2023 GLLI YA Translated Prize."
