Patrick Renn believes that giving is not a zero-sum game and he has spent over forty years proving it.
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (tm) and Chartered Life Underwriter since 1975, Patrick is the founder and president of the Renn Wealth Management Group in Atlanta, an independent registered investment advisory firm he established in 2000 after serving as vice president of Consolidated Planning Corporation. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Villanova University, an MBA from Loyola College, and an Advanced Pension Planning certificate from the American College.
For over four decades, Patrick has become one of the clearest voices on planned giving, the practice of structuring wealth so that it serves the donor, the family, and the causes they care about at the same time. He is the former president of both the Georgia Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the Georgia chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning and a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council and the Georgia Planned Giving Council. His work has been featured on CNN, FOX, ABC, Forbes and Investor's Business Daily.
His book, Finding Your Money's Greater Purpose: How to Make Your Legacy Count, grew out of a conviction formed early in his career: that most people want to give more than they do, and what stops them is not generosity but uncertainty about how. All proceeds of the author's book royalties are donated to charity.
Patrick's own philanthropy runs deep. A longtime supporter of Special Olympics Georgia, he has served on boards of professional, community and charitable organizations throughout his career. He lives in the Atlanta area with his wife Suzi. They have two grown sons. In his leisure time he enjoys traveling, golfing clay shooting, and fly fishing.
