Bridget Beth Collins

Bridget grew up in the sea town of Edmonds Washington, playing in the meadows, gray sand beaches, and mossy forests around her home. Her mother grew large tangled roses that curled around arbors and up into the windows. Salt air and rose are the scent of home for her.

As a child she saw the fairies in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and knew she wanted to be a part of that world. She spent her youth in the dramatic arts and went on to earn her degree in Theater.

One day, while Bridget was walking through her garden with her baby, she saw an orange goldfish...she did a double take and realized it was actually a poppy whose petals looked like fins. She plucked it and made a “painting” with its petals. That was the beginning of what became her online nom de plume, Flora Forager.

Her botanical artworks have since been featured in an array of media and print worldwide, and sprouted bestselling books and journals. Her book of floral animals, Flora Forager ABC, is an Amazon Editor’s Pick and won a Washington State Book Award.

Bridget currently lives in Seattle with her sweetheart Beau (whom she married on Midsummer’s Eve) and their three sons.
