Anne Biggs

Anne Biggs was born in Castlepollard, a mother-baby home in the Midlands of Ireland. It was believed that her birth-mother spent time in The Magdalene Laundries, after her stay in the mother baby home. After graduating from college Anne taught high school in California for over 25 years, in both high school literature, and special education. The Swn Garden is a fictional historical composite of what she beleives may have been her mother's experiences in the Irish instutitions, ang how Irish women could go on with their lives after being forced to give up their babies.
