Jason Salas

Jason Salas was born in Las Cruces, NM (1974-still alive and kickin'). He is an author, cartoonist, illustrator, graphic designer, and singer-songwriter. Woven throughout his work is a thread of humor.

Jason has written several short stories (four of which are collected in his book "Coffee Break Stories") and a mystery novel titled "The Sugar Skull Ghost Thief." "The Sugar Skull Ghost Thief" is of the cozy mystery/amateur sleuth variety; a story involving a mystical relic — a painted skull — that somehow manifested itself into a mischievous ghost.

As a cartoonist, Jason is the creator of two comic strips:

1. "Perk at Work," a comic strip about a café worker and his interactions with his regular (irregular?) customers and coworkers. There are three volumes of "Perk at Work" comics: Book One: "Open for Business," Book Two: "Another Day, Another Dollar," and Book Three: "Back to Work"

2. "In The Way," a faith-based comic with a Messianic Judaism/Hebrew Roots theme. The book "In The Way: A Collection of Messianic Comics and Writings" is, well, just what it sounds like.

Jason has been featured in MAD Magazine as a writer and a cartoonist. He has also written several feature articles for newspapers as well as humor columns.

On a personal note, Jason likes walking, running (sometimes), wine, coffee, philosophy, Christian apologetics, bean burritos, Craftsman houses, and Chihuahua dogs.
