Dorin David

Dorin David is a researcher and writer, with a deep passion for photography.

He holds a PhD in Letters from “Transilvania” University of Brașov, and has completed two research fellowships in Religious Studies: at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.

In addition to his academic work, Dorin has published several novels and collections of short prose, exploring themes that often echo his scholarly interests in myth, symbolism, and the fantastic. His most recent work is a story for children titled Călătoria lui Arthur pe Tărâmul Celălalt (Arthur’s Journey to the Other Realm).

His academic work has appeared in journals such as Transylvanian Review, Studies in Religion/Sciences Religieuses, Transilvania, and the Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Brașov – Series IV: Philology and Cultural Studies. He has also presented papers at numerous international conferences. He has published numerous essays in Romanian cultural magazines such as Observator Cultural, Vatra, Timpul, Tribuna, Corpul T, and Astra. Dorin published several novels and short prose.

Dorin David also has a rich artistic life in photography, a passion he has nurtured since 1985—when he began capturing images and developing them by hand in his own improvised photo lab. His photographic work reflects the same quest for meaning and beauty that defines his writing and research.
