Evan Rofheart

Evan Rofheart has been on a “transcendental” spiritual path since he was fifteen years old and was initiated into the technique of Transcendental Meditation. He was later made a teacher of TM by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, (Guru to the Beatles) when he was just eighteen.

In the 1980, at the very young age of twenty-two, Evan founded Rofheart International Oil, in Houston, Texas, a company and business model which revolutionized the Oil Trading and Oil Brokerage business. After leaving the oil business, Evan founded numerous other businesses; he has sold and leased jet aircraft throughout the world, run a successful restaurant, started and operated a chain of magazine stores in the New York Metropolitan area, and he even spent a few years in the motion picture industry.

Along the way, Evan has lived in Gabon in West Africa, where he pursued oil deals during the day and casino maidens at night. Memorably spending one night in Lambarene, the home of Albert Schweitzer's famed leper hospital.

By the latter part of the 1990s, after attending both Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Evan realized his life-long dream of working in architecture; he has successfully designed and managed major projects for film director Steven Spielberg, the gallery owner Larry Gagosian and many other clients in New York’s Hamptons.

In late 2007 Evan again returned to his spiritual foundation, spending many months living in India and traveling to temples and ashrams. Evan counts himself among the fortunate, in that he was able to spend a week in the unique town of Shirdi, home of the Saint, Sai Baba.

In 2016 Evan founded Enlightenment Press to make books and publications available through various platforms. Publishing does seem to be in his blood, his mother was the Historical Novelist, Martha Rofheart. He now has settled down a bit and lives in Manhattan, with his three small children.
