Cherie Ruffo is the author of The Source Crystals, a middle-grade visionary fantasy series where hidden worlds, ancient mysteries, adventure, and the extraordinary powers within ordinary young people collide.
A lifelong storyteller, spiritual teacher, and creator of immersive worlds, Cherie writes for young readers who have ever wondered whether there might be more to the world—and to themselves—than they can see.
The Source Crystals follows thirteen-year-old Amanda Fisher, her 11-year-old brother Danny, and their friends as they discover a hidden legacy connecting them to twelve ancient crystals and the powers they protect. Their adventures lead from the familiar world into Pukalani and beyond, where courage, friendship, family, humor, and some very unexpected creatures are never far away.
Cherie's stories are inspired by her years of working with children and families, including creating youth camps and programs, as well as her work as a Unity minister and spiritual teacher. At the heart of her writing is a simple idea: the greatest powers aren't given to us—they are discovered within us.
When she isn't writing, Cherie can usually be found dreaming up another corner of Pukalani, spending time with her family, or negotiating with her two Polish Lowland Sheepdogs—middle size dogs with enormous personalities, and opinions about absolutely everything. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, Dan, and is currently writing the next adventure in The Source Crystals series, The Underground Pyramid.
