Linda Ryden is the creator of the Peace of Mind Program, a cutting edge combination of mindfulness, conflict resolution, social emotional learning and equity. Linda is the author of the Peace of Mind Curriculum Series and for 20 years was the full-time Peace Teacher at Lafayette Elementary School, a public school in Washington, DC. Linda now serves as the Founder and Creative Director of Peace of Mind.
Linda is the author of eight children's books, including Henry is Kind, Sergio Sees the Good, Tyaja Uses the THiNK Test, (Tilbury House) Rosie's Brain, Marleigh is Mindful, Quinn and the Worry Channel, Mason and the Conflict CAT (Peace of Mind Press) and Marleigh's Big Feelings (Peace of Mind Press). Rosie's Brain, Marleigh is Mindful and Mason and the Conflict CAT have recently been translated into Spanish. Seven of Linda's storybooks are now published by Cherry Lake Publishing in a library edition!
Linda has had several articles published in the Washington Post including "My Students Call Me the Peace Teacher". Her work has been featured in The Huffington Post, Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, Washington Parent, Washington Family, EdSurge, and Edutopia. Linda recently gave a keynote speech to the National Network of State Teachers of the Year about mindfulness and racial justice.
Linda brings a passion for teaching peace and over 25 years of teaching experience to her work with children and adults.
Linda lives in Washington D.C. with her husband Jeremiah Cohen, owner of Bullfrog Bagels, and their dog Phoebe.
