Alan is a writer, blogger and Museum Educator. He was born in York, England and after many ‘character building’ years away from ​that great medieval city, he returned in 2011 with a beautiful woman, a Steamer Trunk drinks cabinet and an MA in Modern History.

Alan is an intense introvert, enriched by the solitude of imagined worlds and the stories he creates within them. As a child, these worlds were formed with the aid of toy cars, ships and planes, as a teenager - music, as an adult - music, wine, bread and cheese.

An avid reader of adventure literature since age six, when he first made his way through The Flashman Series, Alan is also a history buff with a particular interest in Europe before the First World War and has a partiality for the work of George Macdonald Fraser and Ian Fleming.

Resurgence is his debut novel, and the first in a series of stories he is writing about the world within it.
