PAT FUNK has been easing the anxiety of baby boomers since 1998 with her informative, down to basics, topical discussion of retirement life planning issues. Using an approach which stresses individuality in defining the meaning of “retirement”, Pat’s audiences rave about her ability to simplify the complicated and put the pieces of the retirement puzzle together. She encourages her audience to find the happy medium between their dreams and their means.

With her retirement life planning seminars to public sector employees and attorneys, she has worked with thousands of pre-retirees to help them understand the importance of taking an integrative approach to one’s life and the financial resources that support it. Highlighting the often forgotten emotional aspects of transitioning to retirement as well as the financial considerations, Lawyers at Midlife: Laying the Groundwork for the Road Ahead was her first book, coauthored by Mike Long & John Clyde. Pat's programs designed around this book have been acclaimed by many attorneys as the best Continuing Legal Education of their entire career.

Pat lives her message of the New Retirement Reality. After setting a goal to achieve financial independence and to retire from IBM at 40, and achieving it early at age 38, Pat has created a lifestyle which supports her chosen life plan. She has sculpted her life around her interests in Real Estate and Finance, her passion for world-wide travel, and her core mission to assist people in addressing their critical need for purposeful financial literacy. She has parlayed her unquenchable thirst for knowledge and her business savvy into an unconstrained life that includes selling real estate along the north Oregon coast (previously in Vail, CO where she also owned a bed & breakfast), teaching retirement life planning seminars, actively investing in hard and paper assets, including Private Lending and also orchestrating mind-expanding travel tours.
