Gray Stewart

Gray Stewart's fiction explores Atlanta and its environs across the 20th century, and his life story reflects ways the South has changed and how it hasn't. He is a third generation white Atlantan but spent more than a decade on the faculty of Morehouse College, a historically African American men's college, where he led the fiction workshop from 2000-2010. He has also worked as a paramedic at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta's lifeline for the indigent and one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the country. These experiences have given him a unique vantage point from which to describe "the city too busy to hate."
