Vanessa has always wondered what makes people tick. An epidemiologist by trade, she decided to turn her inquiring mind from science to the human condition with her debut novel, FOUR O'CLOCK ALICE. While she didn't find the meaning of life, she now knows that writing gruesome tales can sometimes help tame the most brutal real-world demons.

She lives in Southern California with a pack of errant dogs and the abiding spirit of their pack leader, Dudley.
