Manhattan Clan Chowder is my first e book. I have written songs most of my life. Several were published, recorded or in movies a very long time ago; "Oh Brother" sung by the Niellsen Sisters in the Universal Movie "Hi Ya Sailor" and "The Polka Polka" sung by the Andrews Sisters in "Her Lucky Night". The last recorded lyric I wrote was to Fats Waller's tune, The Jitterbug Waltz recorded by Dinah Washington. The first song I wrote at 16 was sold outright to other writers and was sung by Tony Martin in a movie, but ethically, I cannot divulge the title. I wrote a lot of special material for various old time stars like Harry Richmond and Gypsy Rose Lee when they were on tour and collaborated on a show for Earle Carroll's Review. I have written several musicals; one was "Garage Sale" which I produced on the Santa Monica Pier in 1984 and a children's musical; "Pie In The Sky" produced and aired on Santa Monica T.V. for two years. I have written many short stories, some of my which may be under the name, Emma C. Scuare. Maybe by now you can guess my age. I am 98 as of 2019 and still hope to write a hit!! I was born and grew up in Los Angeles and married to a prominent art dealer in New York. I have two married children; my daughter, Susan Fung and two wonderful grandchildren in Seattle, and my son Geoff Samuels, also a great guitar player and song writer who is married to ambitious school teacher and horsewoman Donna Samuelsen.

I love comedy and can't seem to stick to serious subjects although my favorite subject has been physics and astronomy ever since my father took me to see Einstein when I was a child. .
