Hi, I'm a retired reading specialist. After several years of retirement, I decided to begin a new career in the field of writing. I am a member of the American Association of University Women in Fremont, California. As a member I have been writing a column dealing with women's rights. The name of the article is International Update. I love to write and draw so when I learned about the CreateSpace program, I started to write and illustrate children's picture books. Some of these books are fiction and others nonfiction. My last few books have been stories in verse. It has been a great experience for me. It almost has a magnetic appeal to me. I no sooner complete one book and I am thinking about the next one! Most of these books feature the engaging little dogs called Minpins. I try to incorporate what I call "life lessons" for children in my stories. I also like to inject humor into these stories. My aim is to help children to discover the magic in reading that I enjoyed as a child.
