Amrita Chatterjee

Amrita Chatterjee was born in Kolkata , India. She grew up in the midst of fairy tales and folk lores narrated by her mother and grandmother. Her love for finding stories grew with her as she realized that every character she met did have a story that could be told. Her creativity got wings as she evolved as a writer and understood the nuances of using words to perfect the art of spinning a yarn.

Her first story, The Promise - A Tale of Friendship, emerged out of observing the interesting character of an old household help in her husband's native village. Drawing out beautiful anecdotes about the old lady from her mother-in-law she crafted a beautiful story about the friendship between two women.

Amrita continues to savor all her relationships in her life but she cherishes the beautiful bond of friendship the most . She tries carving most of her stories out of this beautiful mold of human relationship and hopes to use it as the bridge to build an easy connect with her readers.
