Jane Porter

Jane Porter is an award-winning author and illustrator. Her picture books include 'Pink Lion' (Walker Books 2017), 'King Otter' (Simon & Schuster, 2019) and 'The Boy Who Loved Everyone' (illustrated by Maisie Paradise Shearring, Walker Books 2019) as well as board book 'This Rabbit, That Rabbit'. She's also illustrated two books by Paul Stewart, 'Wings!' and 'Brian The Brave' (both Otter Barry Books). Her first non-fiction book is 'So You Want To Be An Owl', illustrated by Maddie Frost (Walker Books 2020).

In 2020, 'The Boy Who Loved Everyone' won the Little Rebels Award, and 'Brian the Brave' won the Derby Children's Picture Book Award.

Jane also teaches illustration at Putney School of Art, and an art class at a local nursery. When she's not working, Jane can often be found out on the river Thames in a coracle, skiff or punt, looking out for passing bats, cormorants and wagtails.
