Paul Blaney

I'm a writer, freelance journalist and writer in residence/assistant professor at Rutgers University, New Jersey. My first published short story, Apple Tennis, was awarded the Tom Gallon Award by the Society of Authors.

My first novella, Handover, was set in Hong Kong in 1997. My second, The Anchoress, concerns a woman who locks herself in her walk-in closet. Last year I published a novel, Mister Spoonface, which explores the question: in an era of artificial reproduction, what does it mean to be a father?

Born in England, I've lived in Lisbon, Hong Kong, Oregon and New Jersey. Right now, I'm in Pennsylvania, on the bank of the Delaware river. When not writing, I'm generally happiest out walking, swimming, or sitting on the porch swing with a good book.

I also coach soccer/football, even though I'm not very good!
