Kissel Cablayda

Kissel Cablayda is a full-time graphic artist and painter based in Davao City, Philippines. She discovered her love for the arts at the age of 9 when she won an editorial cartooning contest in school. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts Major in Media Arts from the University of the Philippines Mindanao. After having a rough start with her first two jobs, Cablayda turned to freelancing and found her passion in book illustration for Mendon Cottage Books.

Cablayda believes that creativity is a journey and not a destination. She considers design to be an integral part of human communication and experiences. As an avid reader, she enjoys the works of Chaim Potok, Sidney Sheldon, and Harper Lee. When not designing, she spends her time traveling, watching TV series, reading books, and cleaning her room. Cablayda has a great love for Filipino meat cuisine but hates vegetables.
