Cathi Stevenson

Cathi Stevenson has spent more than 25 years immersed in the printing and publishing industry. After several years with a major Canadian newspaper, she built a thriving career as a freelance writer, producing thousands of articles published worldwide.

Today, Cathi is an award-winning book cover designer and the founder of Book Cover Express, where she has created almost 3,000 book covers for authors and publishers worldwide. Her work blends strategic marketing insight with a deep understanding of visual storytelling—skills honed through decades of hands-on experience in both editorial and design.

Over the years, she found herself offering the same guidance to new authors again and again—practical, accessible advice on building visibility long before publication. Writing this book was a natural extension of that work: a way to share her knowledge, demystify the process, and empower authors to market their books effectively without spending a lot of money.

In addition to her professional work, Cathi serves as the volunteer Editor-in-Chief of a community newspaper in Nova Scotia.
