Mark J. Platten

Mark J. Platten grew up on a small pig farm in eastern Iowa where he learned to love and connect with nature. He moved to Colorado Springs where he has spent his professional life as a US Air Force Officer, US Forest Service employee, college Natural Resources instructor, senior environmental specialists for a worldwide company, and is currently a county Extension Director for Colorado State University. His spiritual journey includes his Catholic upbringing and then expanding into various indigenous traditions, Huna, and Taoism to name a few. Mark has written over 850 daily posts on his Facebook page where he is drawn to capture photos of nature and then listens within for the messages they wish to convey. Mark writes a monthly column on nature and has presented at numerous venues around the country.
