I have always been an avid reader, loving mysteries and stories of the sea. As a child, I would sit up in my grandmother's walnut tree with a book for hours. I also climbed the hills behind her house and other trees whose branches I could reach. The sea has always been one of my biggest loves.

I have been writing since the age of five. I have published quite a few articles and short stories in the past. I recently published two books on Amazon that I wrote over thirty years ago. It was rewarding to see them in print. Previous to self-publishing, various publishers had kept my manuscripts for quite some time, asking various questions before returning them to me. I more or less decided to stop sending them. I would only write for my own pleasure and purposes. I wanted to live life.

I did live life. I retired as an editor for a department at a university at the age of 59. My husband, eight days older than I, did the same. We sold our house and furnishings and moved aboard our 40 foot sloop. We sailed aboard her for seven years. During that time, we worked to make extra money. I worked for a sail maker, learning to make sails. My husband worked aboard an eco-cruise ship getting her ready for a trip from Florida through the Panama Canal to Alaska. When she was ready to go, we both signed on as crew and had the trip of our lives.

We are both now eighty-four years old, still active, but land lubbers. I hope to dig out some of my old stories and write some new ones. I survived breast cancer at age sixty nine and have been fighting lung and brain cancer for the past year. The lung cancer tumors are gone and the brain lesions are smaller each time I receive an MRI. I am fighting as hard as I know how and living as hard as I am able. I have three children, one son and two daughters. They and their families are amazing human beings.

I hope to publish more books while I am visiting this planet, and if I do, I hope you will read and enjoy them.
