During the decades I spent writing ads and restaurant reviews, I always suspected I had a book inside me. When it finally emerged it was 'Pasodoble', a darkly comic crime story set in Andalusia, featuring an indolent gourmet cop and an international cast of supporting characters. I followed it with 'Matanza', the second in a planned series of at least four Spanish stories. Next came 'Co[r]vid', a crime story with a difference, the difference being that the protagonist is a big black bird. I live and write in Scotland and, pandemic permitting, Spain.
