Walter H. Moos

Dr. Walter H. Moos has been a Professor (adj) at UCSF since 1992. He is also a principal at Pandect Bioventures, which he co-founded in 2018, and at Berkeley Catalyst Fund. Moos was previously Chairman (emer) and CEO at SP Innovation, and President of Biosciences at the Stanford Research Institute, where he worked for more than a decade. Starting in the 1980s he held Vice President roles in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies (Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis and Chiron) and was CEO/Chairman at MitoKor. Dr. Moos has served on numerous boards, as an advisor to government and nonprofit organizations, and as a consultant to industry on several continents. He has co-founded several scientific journals, co-authored and edited a number of books, and published and patented widely. Dr. Moos holds an A.B. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, both in chemistry..
