John D White

John D. White began writing as a freshman in college. It started off with poetry, music, and simple journal writings to express his feelings. It was an outlet that allowed John to express his thoughts, and to allow his imagination to run free. John has always been a visionary, and one who always seen success in his mind way before the manifestation ever took place. He lives by the saying, "You have to see it, before you see it, or you will NEVER see it."

Born to James (deceased) and Gwendolyn White, John is the Founder and President of the J.D. White P.L.A.Y. Foundation (www.jdwhiteplayfoundation.org), licensed Minister, and influential mentor to young boys and girls in the metro Detroit area. He was born and raised on the West side of Detroit, Michigan, and he has 14 siblings, (9) sisters and (4) brothers. John is a graduate of Bishop Borgess High School, and he earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Technology from Eastern Kentucky University.

John penned his first novel The Black Athlete, which is a compelling Urban Fiction story. It's the quintessential example of the thoughts of many inner city youth that play sports, and have dreams of making it to the professional ranks. It embellishes all the challenges and mindsets of our youth, and takes the reader on a realistic and imaginary journey, into their minds and dreams. They're not aware of the barriers and obstacles in their paths. They're unaware of the statistics, probabilities, and odds stacked against them. But how could they know? They're not statisticians, mathematicians, or odds makers. They're Just kids, trying to make it.
