A writer, a creator, and just a little bit of everything good in the world wrapped into a chocolate-covered, human-sized package for your convenience!
Since the age of eight, Marcus has always had an interest in writing. Inspired by old myths and science fiction and fantasy books such as the Animorphs and Red Wall series, he would begin writing short stories that he would often read to his classmates when given the chance in elementary school. After entering a writing contest at the age of nine & winning first place for his age division, he had his first narrative poem published. However, it would be nearly a decade before he would pursue other creative writing endeavors for publications, but he could always be found with a notebook scribbling down some new story idea.
Following elementary school, he would continue to write short stories for class assignments, but he gradually gained an interest in journalism and he would later attend North Carolina A&T State University in pursuit of a journalism & mass communications degree. Exciting human interest stories and news of inspirational events were his biggest draws, and these stories would also translate into his later creative works. Growing up on a healthy diet of cartoons, including the various Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle series, he would eventually develop an interest in comics as well while attending college. Following his college years he began to write more short prose and poems and would eventually teach himself how to write comics and screenplays as well.
Since 2010, he has had his works displayed in materials by various publishers, both in print and online, and he continues to develop new ideas for stories primarily in the science fiction, horror and fantasy genres, but there is really no limit to his interests. As a lover of all forms of media, the "what if" question has always been the most useful tool in his kit and he has always enjoyed reinventing old stories, analyzing human nature, and telling stories that make people think in new ways.
