Jay Lemke

Jay Lemke is Professor Emeritus at the City University of New York and was the founding Executive Officer of the PhD Program in Urban Education. He has also been Professor at the University of Michigan and in the Communication Department at the University of California-San Diego. His research and writing investigate communication in Education and in Science; Learning, play and emotion; and Ideology and social change. Born in Chicago, Jay has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Chicago, where he once howled at the moon in front of the university president's house. The president invited him in for coffee.
