Katherine Smith Dedrick

Katherine Smith Dedrick writes fast-paced legal thrillers featuring strong female leads navigating corruption, justice, and high-stakes power struggles. The first two books in her V-Files Series are Deviant Agendas and Private Agendas. Her third book, Tangled Verdict, is a fast-paced novella which takes her characters years into their futures for a Senate run and political thriller.

As an attorney for more than thirty years, Katherine has litigated in U.S. federal and state courts, and served on the management team of a national law firm. Her law degree is from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law, and she received her MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, studying in Chicago, Barcelona and Singapore. While Katherine has handled more than 200 litigated cases, she has also consulted with lawyers in other countries on matters stemming from natural disasters including the earthquakes in New Zealand and cyclones in Australia.

Katherine received the Business Insurance Women to Watch Award, the Women with Vision Award, and the Mercedes Mentor Award. Katherine has given presentations in the US and other countries including Australia, Chile, Germany, New Zealand and Samoa on topics ranging from business and legal to mentoring.

In addition to writing, Katherine enjoys tennis, biking, hiking and skiing.
