James R. Dubbs, author of Life in the Lion's Mouth, is a longtime resident of South Central Pennsylvania, where he has worked in a myriad of jobs, including factory worker, newspaper writer, realtor, liquor store clerk, groundskeeper, customer service representative, and self-employed baker. During the 1990's, he left his home state to study creative writing at The University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska. His writing has appeared in numerous fiction periodicals, including The Quiet Time Report, Explorations, and Wrinkles. The Mortician’s Daughter & other short stories is his first collection of short fiction. His second novel, Confessions of a Farmers Market Romeo, was published in 2022 by Milford House Press.
