Don Vandervort

Don Vandervort has been a writer, editor, and product designer for more than 40 years. For Sunset Magazine & Books in Menlo Park, CA, he wrote and edited more than 20 home improvement books from 1970 to 2006.

As a product designer, Don marketed his groundbreaking "Chair-in-a-Box" and other products to major retailers such as Crate and Barrel in the 1980s and 1990s.

In 1995, he authored "How Your House Works" for Ballantine Books. His "The Home Problem Solver" was published by Perseus in 2000.

Don served as a Senior Editor at Home Magazine in the early 1990s. He founded the major home improvement web site HomeTips.com in 1996 and continues to lead it as CEO.
