Jo Belle Coffman was talking to the people in her head from the moment she could talk. She was ecstatic when she learned how to write down those conversations instead of having them out loud.

She grew up in Las Vegas, ran away to Ireland in her thirties, tried a couple of other places and finally landed in Chicago where she lives on the Northwest Side with a couple of real people and a lot more invisible ones. And she still sometimes has those conversations out loud.
