Luke Howard

Luke Howard is an Ignatz Nominated cartoonist who works and lives in Vermont. He was fathered by a fighter jet and mothered by a warm pile of laundry. He received his MFA in cartooning from The Center for Cartoon Studies, where he now teaches. His mini-comic 'All Coons Look Alike To Me: The Life of Ernest Hogan, Father of Ragtime' was named a Notable Comic in the Best American Comics Series in 2013. Howard was nominated for an Ignatz Award for 'Promising New Talent' for his comic 'Trevor' in 2014. His first full-length Graphic Novel, 'Talk Dirty To Me', was released from AdHouse Books in 2016. The Comics Journal reviewed 'Talk Dirty To Me', calling it a “…funny, sensitive, insightful tale of woman’s struggles with sexuality & self-acceptance.” Graphic Policy labeled it "...a story that even with the minimal colors and surreal art feels painfully real.” Howard's next book, 'Our Mother,' is now out from Retrofit Comics.
