ERICA HAMMON

Erica Hammon has worked in many different classroom settings and students. School was a challenge for her, so she had no intention of going to college after high school. Eight years later, after a few life lessons, working as a paraprofessional, she then decided to go back to school.

As a first generation college student, no money to spare, and rusty math skills; she took the leap into college. Only a week in, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. Her first three research papers were dedicated to overcoming the disease holistically. She has been cleared of that medical condition by astounded doctors for nine years.

Encouraged by Napoleon Hill’s statement, “Whatever the mind can conceive….. it can achieve” she wrote her first book: Top Ten Strategies for Student Engagement. With determination she teaches students with disabilities and has made it a goal to inspire students of all ages to overcome their hurdles and be successful.

She has been invited on many radio shows, featured in City Weekly, and featured in The Globe from SLCC. Amid school bells and deadlines, she presents engagement strategy workshops as an educational consultant.

Erica enjoys the outdoors with her sons--hiking, gardening, painting, singing out loud in her car, and volunteering at community events for children. She also enjoys writing children’s books and articles that inspire. Look for her soon-to-be-launched children’s book titled “BALD” for families and children dealing with Cancer.
