A strategic innovation specialist and marketer of iconic luxury lifestyle brands, Michael Calman has decades of experience in retail marketing and creating exceptional customer engagement. He has extensive background in omni-channel marketing, merchandising and revenue integration across specialty stores, e-commerce, wholesale and catalogs. His C-level marketing spans the luxury spectrum, from aspirational through Ultra High Net Worth customers, and from accessible luxury-priced handbags to private jets.

Prior to founding Calman Consulting, LLC in 2006, Michael’s experience was built on marketing creative powerhouse brands. His corporate marketing leadership background includes Calvin Klein, Coach and Bergdorf Goodman, where ground-breaking initiatives and strategic partnerships were developed and implemented—achieving preeminent brand recognition, CRM productivity and market share. During his tenure at Calvin Klein, as Founder and Managing Director of CRK Advertising, Michael was the executive producer of several transformative marketing initiatives, including the highly acclaimed Calvin Klein Jeans and ‘Obsession’ fragrance television, print and outdoor campaigns. As VP of Marketing at Coach, he repositioned the company from a handbag merchandise concentration to an accessories brand by leading the product development of accessory collections. At Bergdorf Goodman, the world’s leading luxury goods department store, as SVP of Marketing, Michael steered the development of BergdorfGoodman. com, was the founder and publisher of Bergdorf Goodman Magazine, and architected a strategic alliance based customer loyalty program. As Chief Marketing Officer of CitationShares, he directed the Vector JetCard launch, establishing the card as the industry’s most accessible entry to private jet travel.

Michael has Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees from New York University, and conducts speaking engagements to corporations, trade groups and academic institutions. He is also an avid racing sailor, including competing as a finalist in the United States Olympic Sailing Trials.
