My working career began as a tool and die maker and as a marine engineer in Scotland. No university for me- I maxed out with a college degree in engineering.
I progressed through supervisory roles with Chrysler Corporation and then management roles with American Can International in the United Kingdom and North America. My first consulting role was with Kepner Tregoe and Associates, a company with a reputation as a gold standard in rational thinking processes.
Ever the reader I was triggered into fashioning myself as half-executive and half-consultant. As an executive I rose over the years to become the Chief Operating Officer with Minacs Worldwide and as Managing Director with Teletech Australia and New Zealand. I have managed profit and loss responsibility on five continents. As a consultant I have been engaged in business turnaround in the automotive parts, metals distribution, and BPO sectors.
My grassroots beginnings and the length of my career have given me experience and expertise in business process outsourcing, call centers, automotive parts manufacturing, metals distribution and processing, plastics, the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries, and high speed packaging. I have led M&A due diligence and integration teams.
I am the author of "The Grow or Die Ultimatum" and coauthor of "The Success or Die Ultimatum" with my brother Steven.
