Wendy Ellis

Wendy Ellis was raised in Upstate New York where sailing and boating on the great lakes was the highlight of summer activities. Later, attending University in Arizona she went on to become a nurse although her professors said writing seems to be what you do best. As an NICU nurse in a large hospital her everyday was filled with many people. Nurses, patients, parents and medical staff all touched her life with their stories of struggle and triumph. She began to write their stories to share those wonderful moments when everything you thought you knew was right suddenly went wrong and then sometimes came to surprise you. “You need to remember the best times and how you got there.” she says.

Escaping the Arizona summer heat she vacations in California and Florida, and winter trips are to the Caribbean or Colorado and Canada to enjoy skiing and a white Christmas. Skiing with the FWSA she has earned several medals. Having a love for animals she raised Labrador retrievers who were adopted by her new friends and colleagues. Interested in art and healing she is a photographer, painter and Reiki master and has been published for an educational journal in the US and England.
