I've done some wild and crazy things, like riding a bicycle from Kenya to Malawi and living off bananas, roasted peanuts, boiled milky tea and fried chicken that was always mostly bones. I also rode from New York to New Orleans and on to Key West, thrilled to find that in America the fried chicken had meat on the bones. I fell in love with somebody there and have never been able to forget him. Never wanted to try.

Then I lived in Siena, Italy, where I was an indigent artiste, learned how to sketch and wrote a couple of novels which fortunately nobody wanted to publish, some poems that weren't too bad, and some short stories that were so convoluted, even I didn't know what they were about...

I'm a writer, screenwriter and script editor now. I've adapted a story into a fabulous coming of age big budget screenplay for a US producer. I've worked as script editor for two South African production companies and co-authored two scripts and written one original, all of which were made into TV movies. I have two thrillers destined for Hollywood and six screenplays in development. I'm also working on the novel of one of my thrillers and a memoir. Watch this space!

I play piano, acoustic and electric guitar, and I sing jazz standards, adult contemporary and some of my own songs. I sketch, paint, read American crime novels, love TV series like Rizzoli and Isles, and constantly vow to go to the gym tomorrow. I never vow to give up dark chocolate, butter or coffee.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, but I’m pretty much always in a New York state of mind.
