Antony J. Stanton is a multi-award-winning, London-based horror author whose work blends historical authenticity with creeping supernatural terror. A member of the UK Chapter of the Horror Writers’ Association, he is the author of six horror books, including Blood of the Damned, winner of the prestigious 2026 IPPY Award, the International Book Award (IBA), and the Spring 2026 BookFest Award for Horror.
With a sharp fascination for Gothic literature and the darker chapters of European mythology, he spends his time exploring how dusty, age-old fears evolve into modern nightmares. His fiction is driven by the belief that monsters are most frightening when they reveal something about ourselves. Nevertheless, this psychological insight does not extend to his personal view that it’s entirely prudent to avoid inviting strangers over the threshold after dark—unless, of course, they come bearing a fine claret.
When not writing tales of blood, betrayal, and things best left buried, Stanton can often be found unearthing obscure folklore and tracking the cross-border aliases of the time-worn and polyonymous vampire. His expertise in the paranormal ends, however, the moment the sun goes down. In the dark, he spends a great deal of time convincing himself that every unexplained creak from the hallway is not an ancient entity, but merely his wife navigating the dark for a glass of water.
