N. J. McKay

Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, N. J. McKay graduated from Fanshaw College in 2005 with a Graphic Design diploma. Her first career was in the production department at a local newspaper where she worked for ten years with amazing people.

Her love of writing started when a friend pulled her into a Star Wars themed forum where she expanded her skill, passion and confidence in the written word. From there she discovered NaNoWriMo in 2011 and has participated ever year in the friendly competition of writing 50,000 in 30 days. There she learned how to push through her hesitation and finish multiple projects. N. J. expanded her writing style in a blog where she started reviewing movies, TV shows and posted some of her short stories and fan fiction over the years.

N. J. McKay is a huge geek and gathers most of her inspiration from the pop culture of anime, video games, movies and books she has read and consumed. She loves reading anything that is fantasy related, devours anime and manga constantly and play as many video games as her schedule allows.

In 2018, she married her husband and their geekiness doubled. Today they live happily together in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, supporting each other in their everyday lives.
