Born in Macon, GA, Beatrice Brown taught special education for over 35 years. Ms. Brown’s love for writing began in elementary school and after retirement, her pursuit of her dream to become an author came to fruition when her inaugural work, A Giraffe in the Gym, was published in 2016. A Giraffe in the Gym was followed by Who Invited the Bees in 2017. Her latest book, A Day in the Life of Mother Goose was published in 2020. She has given author presentations locally, nationally, and internationally.
Mentored by Mr. Tyrone Butler of The Augusta Mini Theatre, Ms. Brown’s latest work is Conquering the Counter, a historical fictional narrative based on the Augusta sit-ins of 1960. Conquering the Counter, a part of the Augusta Museum of History’s Voices of the Past Series, is brought to life each 3rd Saturday at the museum.
She is hard at work on her fourth children's book and hopes to publish it later this year or in the early part of 2024.
