Sam grew up in Roane County in East Tennessee, graduated from the University of North Carolina and then served in the Navy for four years. He was the Communications Officer aboard the USS Little Rock, flagship of the sixth fleet based in Gaeta, Italy. He later served as Communications Officer aboard the USS Frances Marion based in Norfolk, Virginia.
After his discharge from the Navy, he pursued a career in insurance sales/management in Tennessee and Kentucky and in printing paper sales in Tennessee. In 1997, he launched Promotional Media, a small business that provided marketing services to a broad range of other businesses.
Driven by a love of Science Fiction and the dream of someday becoming a writer, he invented a strategy board game with a science fiction theme named Zanoba. He also created an alien language to complement the book. In 2005, he wrote the first novel of a Sci-Fi trilogy called The Last Senoobians and followed it with a sequel novel called The bintorga Tree.
The idea was to create a complete brand that would offer a broader fantasy experience by having a unique game and story line that would complement each other and appeal to young and old alike.
He is working on two books: the first is a non-fiction book about a courageous woman who manages to overcome a harsh childhood in her determination to have a normal and happy life. The second is a sequel to his first two sci-fi novels.
