I am a newbie in a very exiting world of adult coloring books. As an art teacher I have always preferred drawing to painting. Creating intricate details with lines has always been something that I would do with a great joy. I love to create imperfect lines and shapes and give them this warmth and charm that only hand drawn creations can offer.

After my daughter was born, my life has changed in a very unpredictable way. We moved from my home country Slovenia to a new home in Scotland. Arriving here with no knowledge of English language and with a few months old baby I had no time to think about doing any form of art. I was just to busy to survive in a completely new environment, let alone being challenged with everything a new baby brings into your life.

But, a few years later and after giving birth to my gorgeous son, I have finally started feeling this great desire to go back to what I do best; drawing.

A booming world of coloring books for adults has offered a great platform for creating exciting hand drawn images and share them with other people.

My first coloring book called "Color Me, Fold Me" has been published under my new pen name - Ruby Phoenix. I would never dare to challenge anyone to pronounce my original name Dominika Radosavljevic.

As I said, "Color Me, Fold me" is my first coloring book and a learning platform, how to do it. It is more of an experiment to offer something new to the coloring world. You can color and craft your own Christmas decorations and hide small gifts in them.

The book has brought a lot of excitement into the coloring community.

The second book called "Phoenix through Mexico" is the first book in a new series of books about folk art around the world. I am a big fan of folk art which offers such a great contrast to fine art. I like its decorative side and the fact that it is produced by indigenous people around the world.

I have already started creating my third coloring book which will explore and offer beautiful drawings inspired by Slavic folk art. I am very excited about it, because it will represent the heritage of a country where I was born and the rich heritage of the Slavic ethno-linguistic group that I am a part and so proud of.

These days I spend my time flitting between looking for my family and creating intriguing drawings for my next coloring book.
